Doug, we spent many, many hours during this pandemic talking on the phone. Sometimes we laughed and sometimes we were sad. Once you even fell asleep whilst I was talking. We learnt things from each other and there was always love and a mutual respect for each other. You were my family for 60 years and you leave a huge hole that will never be filled. Hope you are playing golf wherever you are. Rest in Peace.

Doug, you were a father figure to me for many years. I would not be the person I am today without your influence, for which, you will have my eternal gratitude. Rest easy.

Doug was a cheeky and sometimes controversial character! He often said things nobody else would get away with, and had a mischievous glint in his eye when he said it but acted innocent 🤣 He was a great poker player, an entertainer, a joker, and occasionally an absolute gentleman too. I feel like I adopted him as my own grandad, and will miss him dearly. Rest in Peace Doug xxx
